Cape Grace, A Fairmont Managed Hotel

Still Cape Grace, now under Fairmont. Same private quay, same mountain in the window.

West Quay Road, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town · $$$$

Still Cape Grace, now under Fairmont, and still a personal favourite of ours: 112 rooms and suites on a private quay between the V&A Waterfront and the yacht marina, every one facing the marina or Table Mountain. For groups there is a private dining room for 12 inside Heirloom, a boardroom for 14 and the Marina Room for up to 50. Bascule, the whisky bar on the water's edge, takes care of the rest of the evening.

“Everyone wants a water view unless, as is the case at Cape Grace, the alternative is a view of the iconic Table Mountain.”

Good to know

112 rooms and suites, including the two-bedroom Cape Grace Suite with a large terrace. Event spaces are all on the marina side: the Private Dining Room within Heirloom (up to 12), the Cape Grace Boardroom (up to 14) and the Marina Room (up to 50), the most flexible of the three. Detailed capacities by layout are in the hotel's banqueting pack, which the events team sends on request. Heirloom serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with afternoon tea Thursday to Sunday. Bascule opens Tuesday to Sunday, midday to midnight, and offers a whisky tasting experience. The spa is open daily from 8am to 8pm and has a couples room. Boat trips and yacht days on the marina are best arranged through the concierge and confirmed in advance. The hotel reopened on 1 May 2024 after its renovation and is owned by Kasada and managed by Fairmont (Accor).
